Ca y est, nous sommes arrivés dans le sud dans la ville de Phang Nga et nous avons passé une nuit sur une île de pêcheurs musulmans (ils ont du se faire virer du continent par les Bouddhistes à un moment). Puis nous avons passé la journée sur l'eau dans la magnifique et célèbre baie Ao Phang Nga (les premières photos sont postées!). Alors forcément les bateaux à moteur "rustiques" pètent bien les oreilles à la fin de la journée, mais ces formations rocheuses sont si impressionantes et l'eau si verte que nous en oublions le bruit...
Déjeuner obligatoire sur la fameuse plage de James Bond (touristique, mais bon rien à voir avec la Côte d'Azur l'hiver ou Saint-Malo l'été!!!). On en a plein les yeux! De retour sur le continent après une nuit et un jour, nous avons trouvé un hôtel correct (cad: clim -la première nuit sans fut dure... - et douche/WC dans la chambre!! le luxe quoi!) Demain direction vers d'autres îles pour cette fois-ci apprécier la plage et faire un break des transports en commun avant notre escapade de plongée (24-29 mars: pas de news depuis le bateau!!). Niveau éco-tourisme, il y a du boulot à faire.... déchets du pique nique jetés en pleine mer... On a ralé, le capitaine n'a pas compris....
Les transports en commun: le train: 1h30 de retard, le bus: clim réparée à coups de marteau, puis changement de bus en cours de route juste comme ça.., le bateau: 1h30 de retard et transfert en pleine mer! Que du fun et vu que l'on a plein de temps devant nous, on le prend relaxe (et oui, même Virginie!)
On va maintenant aller au marché, histoire de manger des trucs au hasard (avec forcément du riz, quand même..) en majorité super bons! Le ventre tient bon pour le moment!
Au passage, l'anglais est très peu parlé et c'est assez drole de comprendre et de se faire comprendre! Quand je demande les toilettes en thai on m'indique la bibliothèque...(heureusement que y'avait pas urgence!!)
Here we are in the scenic and famous Thailand: the Bay of Ao Phang Nga (where the famous James Bond Beach is-it's actually tiny in comparison to all the other formations). We have spent the night on a Muslim fishing island and the day on a noisy long-tail boat in the bay. The sea is so amazingly green and the rocks so fascinating that we forget the constant noise.
We are getting a taste of Thai public transportation: late train, broken busses (repaired by banging a hammer for 15 minutes) , late boats.. It's all good as we have plenty of relaxing time. Tourism is really not organized, and that's great (but that's because we are not staying in Phuket)! We still found a luxurous hotel (AC and bathroom!!). However, the idea of eco-tourism still has a long way to go... our captain threw the trash from our picnic in the sea, he did not think trashing plastic sand styrofoam could be an issue....
It's quite interesting to communicate in Thai and in English (rarely spoken an badly spoken!) but we get by! Looking for bathroom ("library" in my Thai..) was hard but it's not yet an emergency...
Tomorrow we are heading for the islands from where we will start our diving trip (you won't hear from us March 24-29). We will relax on the beach to get ready!
Now it's time to eat some unknown but appealing food (and most of the time it is great!)
